  1. Research For Both Hardware And Software Required In Digital Graphics. By Joanne Hocking.

  2. Formats- • BMP- Bitmap image file which is used to store bitmap digital images. • PNG- Portable network graphics supports lossless data compression. • GIF- Graphics interchange format • JPEG- Joint photographic experts group is a method of lossy compression for digital photography. Lossy compression- Is most commonly used to compress multimedia data such as; audio, video and still images. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_format

  3. Converting Files- Some web pages need a specific type of files for example a JPEG to work. Some images work a lot better like JPEG doesn't have a white background whilst PNG does. Some different types of images take up a lot less room so more space is saved if there is a limited amount of space. Source-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_conversion

  4. Data Compression- Data compression means reducing the file size. There are type types of data compression. One called Lossy which finds unnecessary information and then removes it. And the other one called Lossus which finds data that needs to be replaced and then goes on to replace it with a new file. Disadvantages- Can be expensive. Takes up alot of memory. 5. CD Rom- CD Rom- A CD rom is a pre-pressed compact disk which contains data. circular optical disk capable of storing large amounts of data. A Cd Rom is a short name for a Compact disc read-only memory. A CD rom is most popularly used as computer purposes, for example video games and multimedia applications. 6. Memory SD Card- Memory SD Card- A memory card can also be known as a flash card. It is an electronic flash memory data storage device. This is used for storing digital information. These memory cards are most commonly used in electronic devices such as digital cameras, mobile phones, laptops, computers, MP3 players and video consoles. The advantage of these are that they are small. They are also able to keep the data without using power. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_card

  7. HDD- Hard Disk Drive- HDD (Hard Disk Drive)- HDD stands for a Hard Disk Drive. This device is for storing data, it is used for storing and retrieving digital information. A HHD uses rapidly rotating disk which are coated with magnetic material. A HHD stores its data into one place without using power the same as the memory card. Data is read in a random access manner this basically means that individual bits of data can be stored and retrieved in any order. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive

  8. Graphics Card- Graphics Card- A graphics card has lots of other names. It is also known as a video card, graphics board, graphics card, display card etc. The graphics card can be integrated into the CPU or the motherboard. The graphics card usually has a small quantity of embedded memory and takes some of the systems main RAM which then reduces the total of RAM available. A graphics cards main use is to re enter images into the computer. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_card

  9. Graphics Tablet- Graphics Tablet- A graphics tablet is a computer input device that will then let you hand-draw images and graphics. This is very much similar to drawing images with a pencil and paper. This tablets can also be used for signatures. Capturing the images by this way is called digitalizing. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_tablet

  10. Digital Camera- Digital Camera- A digital camera is a camera that encodes digital images and videos digitally and then stores them later on for reproduction. Most of the cameras sold today will be digital. Digital cameras are now incorporated into many other devices such as mobile phones and PDA’s. Digital and film cameras share an optical system. They typically use a lens to with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto the pick up device. The shutter admits the correct amount of light onto the imager. Unlike film cameras digital cameras can display the image onto the screen straight after being recorded. These digital cameras can also store and delete images. 11. Printers- Printers- In computing a printer is peripheral which makes a representation of an electronic document on physical media. Individual printers are designed to support local and networks at the same time. Some printers can print documents stored on memory cards, digital cameras or scanners. Printers basically use different layers of ink to create hard copies of digital creations. A virtual printer is a piece of computer software whose user interface and API resembles that of a printer driver, but which is not connected with a physical computer printer. 12. Monitor- Monitors- A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers. The display device in modern monitors is most typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size itself. Computer monitors were used for data processing while television receivers were used for entertainment. From the 1980’s onwards computers and their monitors have been used for processing and entertainment. Monitors are used for viewing different texts and images. 13. Software- Software- Computer software is any set of machine-readable instructions that directs a computers processor to perform specific operations. The term is used to contrast with computer hardware, the physical objects (processor and related devices) that carry out the instruction's. Computer hardware and software require each other and neither can be realistically used without the other. Source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software
