Witnesses stated the car was driving at an accelerated rate of speed before it slammed into a beam that supports the apartment building. Many of the residents heard the crash while others felt the building move from impact. Even though the collision was felt, the structure is still intact and has minimal damage. Witnesses believe the driver was acting intoxicated and police had later tested him for DUI. Both the driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries.
