  5. 1.  Be respectful to your teacher, your peers, and any visitors to the class. • 2. Be on time. Take care of restroom issues BEFORE entering my classroom.  • 3. Bring all books, supplies, and homework assignments to class.  You will not be allowed to leave during class. • 4. No gum chewing/candy/food/drinks. • 5. Cheating of any form will not be tolerated. • 6. It is the responsibility of students to collect and complete any missing work in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in loss of credit for missed assignment.

  6. PERSONAL ITEMS: • FOOD & DRINKS: NO FOOD OR DRINKS. • BACK PACKS/PURSES: Closed and on the floor under your desk. • COSMETICS & GROOMING ITEMS: KEEP THEM OUT OF SIGHT (This is not cosmetology class.)

  7. Grading Policy • Tests: 50% • Labs: 30% • Daily (quizzes; class work): 15% • Homework: 5% • Semester Exam: 20% of the Semester Grade

  8. Materials List • Hard cover notebook • Spiral or Journal (70-100 pages) • Metric ruler, • Pens and pencils w/eraser • A willingness to ask questions and participate in class.  • Alert and active human brain. • All of the above items must be brought to class each day!

  9. Expectations • 1.ALLstudents are expected to actively take notes during teacher presentations. • It is important to pay attention in class and ask questions when you do not understand. • 2.When homework is due it must be placed in the assignment box when you enter the classroom.

  10. 3. All tests are closed book and notes. As Chemistry is a course that builds upon itself, tests are cumulative. • 4. Students are expected to take notes, be attentive, and contribute to the class. • 5. Labs are very serious and each student is expected to follow the laboratory safety contract. • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the student from the lab and alternative written work will be assigned for the remainder of the semester for each laboratory investigation.
