Sport & Cultural • EOTC Programmes • Sports Camp at Totara Springs, Karapiro, Maungatautari, Pirongia, Museum, Beach Safety, Waimarino • Waikato Full Primary Events • Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics, Speech, Art • Catholic Interschool Events • Swimming • Basketball • Cross Country • Te Aroha • Athletics • St John’s Sports Skills Day • Umpiring events for younger students (sports exchanges)

  12. Sport & Cultural • Guitar Lessons • Production (biennially) • Choir • School Sport Teams • Netball, Basketball, Touch (coached and organised by the school)

  13. Technology Programme • 2 terms at Te Awamutu Intermediate working on Cooking, ICT, Materials Technology (Sewing etc), Science, Hard Materials (Wood, Metal & Circuits) • Students bus up and back, leaving school at 8:45am and return at 12:40pm • Monitored by St Patrick’s Staff (spot visits!)

  15. Cluster Classes • Weekly • Classes split and multilevel teaching (split in 2010 between 5 teachers = approx 20 students per teacher) • Opportunities offered this year • Maths Extension • Technology • ICT • RE / Creative Writing • Possibility of Introducing Music in 2010

  17. Learning Languages • Spanish offered in 2008 & 2009 • Looking at introduction to 2 languages offered in 2010 (Te Reo + 1 other)

  18. Eco Gardening & TFS • Eco Gardening • School Garden • Worm Farm • Trees for Survival Scheme • Partnership with local business (Fonterra) and community group (Lower Mangapiko Stream Care) • Planting seedlings, potting on, planting onsite (Montefiore Reserve)
