Introduction • 3rd package of EU energy market legal obligations (ref 715/2009) agreed 3rd September 2009. • Legislation aims to facilitate an EU-wide gas market by provision of a common dataset by 3rd March 2011. • Requirements on EU gas transporters for the transparency and publication of specified data passed to respective governments. • National Grid European Transparency Project (ETP) project will build on the current strategic MIPI platform for to deliver the data consistency and transparency in line with other EU TSO’s such as; • Standardisation of Units of Measure. • Additional data to be published (both increased volume & frequency). • Upgrade of graphics package - provision of new graphs and enhancement to existing graphs. • Extend the online retrieval availability of MIPI data to a rolling five years of history (data to be available with effect from 01/10/2010 and to be built up over time). • Link to MIPI: www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Data

Summary of changes • 4 NEW MIPI reports • 4 ENHANCED MIPI reports (inclusive of the new Capacity Application screen) • 4 MIPI reports CHANGING LOCATION • New graphical package (new and enhanced graphs) • 4 new data items to ENTSOG • 2 data items now (automated) to ENTSOG • Increased on-line data storage (5yrs) • Provision of unit conversions • Consistent Units of Measure across MIPI • Additional ASEP’s added to MIPI reports • Note: The current API functionality should not be affected, users with API’s will continue to receive the data requested. • For API information including API data names (including new data items) please access the following link: www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Data/help

  5. Summary of UNCORM / Data Dictionary Changes • Some minor housekeeping changes to UNCORM • Addition of some 32 additional data items • Sign-off of UNCORM required to formalise above changes
