  2. Access the Rice Library at http://www.usi.edu/library • Under “Find,” click on Databases. • You will need to sign in.

  3. Business DatabasesLocate Business Databases. Database sources offer quality, credibility, and reliability. Use ABI/INFORM Complete (includes Dateline and Global), the first source above.

  4. If you prefer, enter the Rice Library through Blackboard and search for databases. Or enter the library through Blackboard. Use BUSINESS databases.

  5. Using ABI/INFORM Complete (includes Dateline and Global), choose FULL TEXT and PEER REVIEWED from the ProQuest database.

  6. Click on the chosen article.

  7. Read the full text. To create a Reference citation, click on Cite.

  8. Select APA, 6th ed.; then copy and paste the citation into your document.

  10. Web Sources • Conduct Web searches ONLY AFTER you have found and used quality database articles. Warning: For high-quality articles, sites often ask you to pay for a subscription service. Don’t!The same articles are usually available for freein the Rice Library! Web searches may provide timeliness. • Google Scholar sources are fine, but often dated. • Often you can trust org andedu sources. Remember, the com extension is trying to sell you something! • Wikipedia is not permitted. • Avoid sources without authors or date. • Avoid biased sources.

  11. Documenting Web Sources • EasyBib in the Rice Library may help you with APA form for Web articles. • http://www.usi.edu/library/ • Click on “Cite it” under Tools. Warning: Don’t pay for EasyBib services. EasyBib is also available on the Web, but only for MLA form. You want APA.
