RDM validation Full-scale RDM validation has been fulfilled for three disturbances • Central Asia systems separation, 1400 MW, (01.02.2007); • Balakovskaya TPP units #3 and #4 tripping, 2000 MW, (04.05.2007); • Volgodonskaya TPP unit #1 tripping, 1010 MW, (31.08.2007) • Evaluation of the RDM adequacy was carried out on conformity of: • frequency (maximum deviation, speed of decrease, quasi-steady state value) • in the individual IPS and UPS/IPS in general; • frequencies and phases of the inter-area oscillations within the range 0.05 Hz – 0.5 Hz; • character of the oscillation damping; • character of the power change at the separate lines; • relative angles between electrically and geographically distant points

Dynamic model validation Results of computation after adjusting of load sensitivity coefficients to frequency and voltage: Reference dynamic model of IPS/UPS Nodes – 4250 including Generators– 520 Equivalents– 140 Branches – 7050 The regular procedure of dynamic model validation on the base of WAMS recordings is applied in SO of UPS

IPS/UPS Dynamic Model Validation procedure • Regular procedure of RDM validation • Identification of disturbance (volume of imbalance must be more than 800 MW). • Power facilities disturbance parameters recording by PMUs. • Keeping the parameters of ante-disturbance steady state operation, information on generation structure, volume of generation and available active power reserves • Power system disturbance simulation by means of EUROSTAG. • Comparison of recording and simulating parameters, tuning of the model.
