Community Greenhouse Initiative for San Pablo Residents

The residents of San Pablo are currently purchasing seedlings from nearby villages for their personal crop needs. To address this issue, we propose establishing a community greenhouse that will allow locals to grow season-specific plants. This greenhouse will be maintained by community members who wish to utilize the service, similar to a community garden. While the initiative will require funding, dedication, and time, it promises to enhance local agriculture and provide a sustainable solution for seedling supply, benefiting residents and promoting community engagement.

  2. Problem Statement • San Pablo residents are purchasing seedlings from nearby villages for growing personal crops

  3. Possible Solutions • Establish a central place to build a greenhouse • Greenhouse maintained by people who want to use the service (similar to a community garden) • Grow season specific plants

  4. Constraints • Takes a lot of money for startup • Need people that will dedicate themselves to the cause • Takes time to establish proper technique for growing seedlings • Amount of space needed to carry out project • Takes away business from nearby villages

  5. Construction of Greenhouse • Local building materials • Observe already established greenhouses

  6. Poll the locals • Ask locals what they expect out of this project • What seedlings would the locals like to see grown • Would they want seedlings for personal use and/or for sale to nearby villages
