IVP or IVU • This is a timed exam. The intent is to determine the function of the kidneys. • A series of exposures will be made from 1 to 20 minutes. • 30 degree obliques may be done at 5 – 10 minutes post injection. • Most early films, before 10 minutes, will be cone downs. • 15 minute film maybe prone

15 minute prone
Retrograde urography • Catheterization followed by direct contrast injection • Excellent visualization of the ureters • No kidney function
Cystography • Small films • AP, bilateral obliques (40-60 degrees), lateral • For voiding exams rotate the patient 35-40 degrees
