Patient Experience • Feedback from Your Care Matters – recent changes • Menu cycle changing from weekly to fortnightly • Increased parking provision • Working on a system to inform patients of estimated waiting times in ED • Improvements in patient information – DSU, Endoscopy, Comet, Chaldon • Reducing and managing noise at night – inpatient wards • Communication • Monthly FFT scores displayed for all inpatient wards and ED • ‘You said ….. So we have’ posters available in all areas • Trust-wide list of all changes being made at ward, department and Trust level (on Intranet) • Updating Internet to give more detail of changes • Patient Experience Committee • Current Task and Finish Groups – Customer Care Training, Written Information, Car Parking

  21. CQC Inspection in May Important opportunity for us to demonstrate we are: • Safe • Effective • Caring • Responsive • Well led

  22. What will it involve? • Visiting in teams or groups • External patient focus groups • Focus groups with staff • 2.5 days • 25 – 30 clinically knowledgeable inspectors focused on care delivery at ward and service level • Unannounced visits

Recruitment of members continues… • Public and staff consultation closed 28th Feb and we are now collating the responses • Membership recruitment continues – currently up to 850 patient and public members (still need help of staff to encourage family members and friends to sign-up for membership) • Staff members will be auto-enrolled by the end of March 2014

Final Quality Report now received • Board Governance Assurance Framework (BGAF) & Quality Governance Assurance Framework (QGAF) External Assessment by Deloitte – final report now received. • We are updating our action plans to include their recommendations. QGAF score was 7 (we self assessed as 6.5) • We need to be aiming for a score of 1 – 2 definitely no more than 3 (no Trust will be authorised with a score greater than 4)

  28. FT Timeline… • TDA Readiness Review – 13th March 2014 – (marks start of phase 2) • Chief Inspector of Hospitals visit – May 2014 • Financial Due Diligence (date tbc) • Election of Governors – Summer 2014

  29. FT Timeline (cont’d) • Final submission to TDA (including Board 2 Board) – Sept 2014 • Application to Monitor – Oct 2014 • Establish Shadow Council of Governors • Authorisation as Foundation Trust – by 1st April 2015

AOB • Please Wash your hands when you enter the hospital • Staff drop-in surgery (monthly) • come along and raise concerns or ask questions of the Exec – 21 March, 1.00 to 2.30pm, PGEC Atrium, first one with Gillian, just drop-in or make an appointment via Comms Team. • Staff drop-in - (daily) • There is an Exec member in the restaurant at 8am every morning for 15 mins – pop along if you want to get advice or raise an urgent issue • NHS Change Day – thank you to everyone who pledged to make life a bit better for patients and colleagues. Some people used it as a comments board which is also useful.
