  1. “License to the world an innovation that will have a lighting strike effect on PC performance and usability” Andrew R. Flagg, NIA Inventor MBA Technology Management ‘2004 BS Computer Systems Engineering ‘1991 + Mountain Computers Inc Treasurer and VP since 2006 + Microsoft Alumni Member since 1997 + US Army Veteran since 1996 + Inventor & Entrepreneur since 1984 + Farm boy since 1966 Presentation at June 2007 NIA Monthly Meeting Elk’s Lodge Reno Nevada

  2. As Dieter might say, “What is it?”Let me get to the point. Mountain Computers Inc has a process of steps when applied to a computer’s internal configuration that enhances the performance on average by 60%+ and also increase the usability of the computer.

  3. Imagine • If cures and treatment for complex medical diseases could be found …using computers in months not years or decades… How many lives could be saved? How much is that worth?

  4. Imagine • If the world’s complex math problems were solved using a computer on average 60% faster… How much is that worth?

  5. Imagine • If the energy required to run, power and operate computers was eliminated by 50%... How much is that worth?

  6. Imagine How much is it worth? • If a team of employees could create something using a computer was four times quicker, easier and faster…

  7. Imagine • If the heat generated by computers in homes, offices, skyscrapers and data centers around the world was reduced by 50%... How much is that worth?

  8. You get the idea…computers can... • Calculate continuously • Require electricity when turned on • Connect and empower team creativity • Require cooling all the time It’s all about time; specifically “computer time” …how time translates to money spent, saved, wasted, earned to achieve results to find cures to save lives, solve problems, and create ideas that improve our lives each minute we live.

  9. What’s the problem? • You get a new PC and it should be faster but it is slower…why? • You upgrade the computer’s operating system to something new and it seems slower… why?

  10. The Possible Answers • Computers do not remain streamlined as designed by their creators • The computing industry have ideas and attempts to solve PC performance problems and typically fall short and fail • Many do not work as advertised

  11. Mountain Computers Solution • The process and methods resolve PC performance and usability, and does not impact stability • The solution can be productized into software and distributed, sold, licensed through the Internet • Honed and invented a series of PC performance and usability tuning methods based on 20 years of: computing and business education, advanced software exposure, corporate and entrepreneurial experience • Built a company with an advisory board that knows 80% of the solution to the puzzle and 20% remains privately held.

  12. Where does one start? • Is there really a problem? • If so, who can be or is the customer? Who has problems today that needs computing results faster and sooner? • Some basic background research Who designs computers today? What are those designs? When did computers first appear? Where did computers originate? Why do computers need to go fast? How can computing inventions help?

  13. The beauty of my innovation • The computing world receives a lightning strike effect • Computers are made vibrant and become more alive • People discover usability enhancements • Teams achieve productivity gains and produce faster • The so called hidden secrets are revealed • The complex is made simple

  14. The business side… • Focus on the service and product in the “message” • Apply business rules • Needs Analysis • Gap Analysis • Financial Analysis • SWOTT Analysis • Market Analysis • Investor Analysis Get it started and get it done, and “keep the trucks rolling.”

  15. Inventor…next steps… • Get educated on invention protection • Demonstrate value, maturity, and trust • Realize necessity is the mother of invention • Technology fusion is abundant • Believers in your cause will find you somehow • Demonstrate your idea and prove it as real • Continue to test it and strengthen your invention • Market your product using paths of least resistance • Time is your enemy but also a friend

  16. Mountain Computers and Inventor…work to be performed • Complete the product • Document the product; use the 80/20 and the 95/5 rule • At the same time: • Identify value of product in terms of millions or billions of dollars • identify funding to support research & development • approach industries that will license the invention and solution • determine if a patent is needed • answer to the advisory board on why the invention is not done yet • Possibly restructure the company to support investor funding

  17. In Closing • Thank you… • Any questions?
