AFSC Assignments Roadmap • 626 Overseas (1C1X1) Authorizations • 184 short tours in the AFSC • 432 long tours in the AFSC • AFSC is not overseas imbalanced • Generally, 4 to 5 non-vols to long tours in any grade • Generally, 6 to 8 non-vols are TSgts & MSgts to shorts • *2 Shorts/1 Long normal in 20 year career • Average TOS 4 years for E-5 thru E-7, 2-3 years for E-8 • Special Manning (AFSC) Assignments • (53/5%) of AFSC authorizations are at “special duty” type locations – joint departmental and language • Filled through EQUAL Plus • Many are one-deep

  8. Special Experience Identifiers • Accuracy important • Qualified for assignment • Greater need for radar over tower • Assignment reselections • Remove inaccurate SEIs

Special Experience Identifiers • How are they used by AFPC? • Used to compliment the assignment process • Overseas short tours are one for one match • Special positions (TERPs/Airspace)/ (unique requirements) • AFPC can only display 5 SEIs • Allows rapid identification of resource for contingency, unique circumstances

General Information • Supervisor should be the first stop for assignment counseling • If you don’t know the answer ASK • MPF is not always right • In most cases AFI 36-2110 is • Know the retention programs and how they work • In the near future AFPC will not be fielding call/e-mail from TSgts and below
