WilliamRosenberg • It all started in 1946 when William Rosenberg invested $5,000 to form Industrial Lunch Services, a company that delivered meals and coffee break snacks to customers in Boston, Massachusetts. • This led him to open his first coffee and donut shop, the "Open Kettle". • Then, in 1950, he opened the first store known as Dunkin' Donuts in Quincy, Massachusetts.

  3. the founder of Dunkin’s • In 1950, William Rosenberg founded Dunkin' Donuts. • In 1960, Mr. Rosenberg founded The International Franchise Association (IFA). • In 1983, Mr. Rosenberg founded the International Horse Racing Association, and was honored in 1988 with the first-ever Achievement Award by Harness Horsemen International. • On September 22, 2002, Mr. Rosenberg passed away at the age of 86 at his home on Cape Cod.

  4. TheFirstDunkinDonutsLocation • The first Dunkin Donuts shop was opened in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1950. The company began franchising five years later. • By 1963, there were over 100 Dunkin Donuts shops open.

  5. It took him only four years to open four other locations in the Boston area, by franchising. • Dunkin’ Donuts has become the world’s largest chain serving coffee and other baked goods.
