University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Home About Sisters Values Recruitment Calendar Contact "It shall be the purpose of this fraternal organization to form a close social and fraternal union of those of similar ideals and to foster, maintain and instill such ideals in the hearts of its members as will result in actions worthy of the highest precepts of true womanhood, democracy and humanity.” History The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation, committed to supporting educational and philanthropic endeavors, was founded in 1963. The women had faced discrimination by other Greek Fraternities. As a result, they founded a new organization with the ideals of individualism, and personal growth The Sigma Delta Tau Kappa Chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was founded on March 6, 1926. On March 25, 1917, seven young women founded Sigma Delta Tau at Cornell University. SDT Kappa Chapter hosts alumni brunch to celebrate 85 years of the Kappa chapter. Prevent Child Abuse America ΣΔΤ Late SDT KAPPA Fan Page SDT National Prevent Child Abuse America SDT holds philanthropy events to support Prevent Child Abuse America, a foundation working towards an end to child abuse in our country.
