  2. Scale Model of the Solar System • Scale Models add an interactive, educational, and fun community offering • Promotes the “walking community” as it encourages participants to walk through town and the parklands on their journey through the Solar System.

  4. Suggested Scale • Entire scale model is approximately 3.5 miles beginning from the town center line and finishing the loop around the pond.

  6. Kick-off Day Plan • Early summer date • Promote the new installation on Hopedale cable and Milford Daily News • Have a mini-lecture at the library by the high school students about size and scale

  7. Approximate Costs • Using a HEET grant, the astronomy club is prepared to pay for the following costs: • $300 for signage, before mounting • $50 for printing of color maps to be located at the library • $150 for additional expenses (mounting)

  9. Donations to the Model Project • We will also ask patrons of the model to donate a $1 fee for their map. Money will be donated to the Town of Hopedale for any upkeep costs in the future.
