  1. Krynki is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Brody in the south central part of Poland. It lies approximately 2 km from Brody, and about 11 km from Starachowice. The village has a population of 1,273.

  2. The village is surrounded by ponds and forests. Unique landscapes, richness of nature, soothing silence as well as possibility to angle are the source of interest of tourists from Poland.

  3. Krynki is famous from its old historic church. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was built form the stone in 1724-1727. The legend says that in the 17th century there was a miracle: the Blessed Virgin Mary revealed to people of the village on the tree. In the first half of the 17th century, another miracle occurred. In a nearby pond, a little boy drowned (Andrzej Chamera). The desperate mother came to the bishop Tomasz Oborski. The man put the boy in the chapel and he began to pray. Everyone was amazed when after two hours of praying, a child came to life.

  4. The silver dress placed in the painting and other gifts are the tokens of other miracles that have happened in this place. Unfortunately, they have been looted during the Swedish Deluge. Mikołaj Zacharski, after the death of his wife and his daughter, decided to found a new church. It was rebuilt from the existing chapel in 1727.

  5. The village and the church are surrounded by the age-old oak and ash trees. Their sizes make an impression on the country dwellers and the tourists, as well.

  6. The statue of our bishop - Antoni Julian Nowowiejski

  7. Outside the church, there is the larch shingled church gate and two belfries in the Baroque style. They dates back to the 18th century.

  8. The gate is embellished with the sculpted in wood ornaments.

  9. In front of the old gate, there is a figure of the St. Stanisław, the bishop. It is said that it dates back to the second half of the 16th century.

  10. Near the church, there is the old graveyard. The oldest headstones date from the first half of the 19th century.

  11. Outside, there are two baptismal fonts. One is of the Gothic type, and the second one dates from 1703.

  12. The area of the “Rosochacz” Reserve amounts to 30.52 ha. It occupies the fertile and rich soil that originates from the muds of the river Świętojanka. Prevalent species are: alder (44.9%) and pine (40.1%), moreover, there are many other species, e.g.: birch, oak, maple, aspen, fir, hornbeam, elm and spruce.

  13. There are monumental sandstone blocks. Some rocks are similar to the hoods, pulpits, or big mushrooms. These deposits, formed at the bottom of the river, have grain structure and diagonal stratification.

  14. The old larch house from 1910 is also worth seeing.

  15. The artificial lake in Brody is one of the most beautiful parts of our village. This large reservoir (the area of 260 ha and the length of about 4 km) is not only a jewel of the landscape, but also a kind of a tourist centre with good tourist accommodation places. Its qualities are appreciated by many water sports enthusiasts. There are water marinas, rentals, sailing boats, motor boats, water bikes etc. The lake also has a good reputation among the anglers.

  16. The Dam on the Kamienna River was built In 1840. It is a construction of stone blocks, built in the classical style. The dam was destroyed during the flood in 1903. It was reconstructed (keeping the original dimensions and design, using ancient building stone blocks) during the construction of the new dam in the 60s of the twentieth century. It is maintained in excellent condition and beautifully integrated into the architecture of contemporary dam, built in 1963.
