  1. Accessing your Windows Live Account Email & SkyDrive (online file storage, file and folder sharing)

Go to SkyDrive - https://skydrive.live.com/ Your Windows Live ID is also your school email address; it starts with the same format as your EISD computer login and is followed by @students.eisd.net. This means that if your name is Juan Garcia and your ID is 123456, your Windows Live ID/email address will be j.garcia.123456@students.eisd.net The temporary password is either password or your student ID

  3. First Time Login The first time you login, you will be asked to verify the year you were born, the country that you live in and then accept the agreement.

  4. SkyDrive Homepage Your SkyDrive homepage will look something like this. Notice, you have 7GB of online storage! c

  5. Updating Your Account Next you will need to update your name and change your password, you do this via the account settings: Click on your email address in the top right corner Select “Account settings” from the drop down menu Use the “Edit profile” menu when you want to personalize your account.

  6. Account Settings The first two things you need to do are: Edit your name, use your first and last name, not nicknames Change your password, passwords need to have at least 8 characters and must include 2 of the following Capital letter Lowercase letter Number c

  7. Security Steps After you have changed your password and/or name, you will probably be required to log back in. * Make sure you make a note of your new password!

  8. Making your account secure Your online security is taken seriously, never share your username and password with others. To ensure your account is secure, you need to add a phone number, no-one will use this to call you, but you may need to enter this if you forget your password. You may enter an alternate email address, but this is not required Do not enter anything in the “Trusted PC” field. Make sure you add a security questions to your account, make it something that you will remember. After you have finished updating your security information click “Save” c c

  9. Making your account secure Click “OK” to return to SkyDrive

  10. Navigating Windows Live Clicking on the down arrow next to SkyDrive opens another menu

  11. Navigating Windows Live This menu allows you to access your email, contacts, calendar or stay on SkyDrive Select “Mail”

  12. Email The first time you go to your email, you will see this window. DO NOT click the checkbox for the blind and low vision experience. Select “English (United States)” for the language Select “(UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) as the time zone Click “OK”

  13. Email To personalize your email select the “Options” menu. You are also able to change your password by selecting “See All Options”

  14. Your security is important Keep your profile private Only accept requests from people you know Something to Remember!
