Analysis of Kinematical Space and Excited States in 12ΛB: Optical Description Challenges

This report presents a detailed analysis of the status of the experiment E05115, focusing on the optical description discrepancies in the kinematical space and the challenges faced in observing core excited states in 12ΛB. The FWHM values indicate issues with the resolution compared to lambda and sigma, and various tuning attempts have been made to improve the optical description and achieve better momentum and angle balance. Ongoing adjustments aim to enhance statistical weights for core states visibility, with plans for further optical and kinematical tuning and thesis preparation.

  1. Analysis Status of E05115 Chunhua Chen May 09, 2012

  2. Old status FWHM ~1.675MeV σ= 0.529MeV FWHM ~1.775MeV I=20uA+35uA σ= 0.529MeV • Problem:theoptical description is not uniform on whole kinematical space • 12ΛBgs resolution is worse compare to lambda and sigma; • Core excited states does not shown up in 12ΛB;

  3. First Test-increase the weight of 12ΛBgs-momentum tune- HMFW=1.84MeV σ= 403keV mm=-11.41 HMFW=1.80MeV

  4. First Try-increase the weight of 12ΛBgs-angle tune- HMFW=1.708MeV σ= 387keV mm=-11.38 HMFW=1.672MeV • Tips: • Get the balance between momentum and angle for CH2 target • Still Core excited states do not show up

  5. Second Try-Put first core excites status into Mathematical tuning data sets with low statistical weight (w_core<=0.5w_bgs) σ= 377keV mm=-11.36 HMFW=1.90MeV HMFW=1.84MeV • Still Core excited states do not show up

  6. Third Try-Put first core excites status into Mathematical tuning data sets with higher statistical weight(w_core=2w_bgs) σ= 489keV mm=-11.42 HMFW=1.820MeV HMFW=1.793MeV • Tips: • Core excited states show up • 12ΛBgs becomes wider

  7. Preliminary status – 10ΛBe Second Try Third Try

  8. Preliminary status – 9ΛLi KEK-E336 9LBe

  10. To do • The optics is still not uniformly mathematically described on whole kinematical space; • Continue to do the optical and kinematical tune; • Think about the cross section and other physics • Prepare the thesis;

  11. Outline • Old status • Problems-the optical description is not uniform on whole kinematical space : • 12ΛBgs resolution is worse compare to lambda and sigma; • Core excited states does not shown up in 12ΛB; • First try • Status • Second try • Status • Problem • To do
