  1. Overview of the AP Requirements AP Studio Art Drawing and 2D Design

  2. What is due in May • 24 finished works of art • 12 digital slides must show a breadth of materials, ideas and techniques • 12 digital slides must have an ongoing and central theme • 5 actual works (flat and smaller than 18” x 24”) that show the quality of your work.

  4. Requirements • You must attend class. • You must work on art the entire period from bell to clean-up. • You must keep track of your work and photograph finished pieces. • You must strive to follow the Studio Habits of the Mind.

  5. Requirements Continued • You must actively and continuously draw and write you ideas in your sketchbook.

  6. 1st Assignment • Drawing Portfolio – A detailed contour study of a complex plant integrating two colors in the background Care must be taken so the color does not overpower the drawing. • 2D Design – A cityscape drawing that creates three dimensional value by using only line

  7. Sketchbook Assignment • Contour Drawing – Draw a crumpled piece of clothing using continuous line contour. DO NOT shade for this exercise. Really EXPLORE THE OUTSIDE EDGES of the object with your eyes and your pencil.
