  21. Parsha Here we have a wild olive tree.

  22. Parsha Trunk is Christianity Branches are Christians Roots (as we have seen many times over) are Paganism. They’ve abolished G-d’s Shabbat, circumcision, His Feasts and many other of His Laws. When a Gentile comes to the L-rd they can graft themselves onto this tree. There are some Saved people there. The problem is, it’s the wrong tree.

  23. Parsha There’s another tree and we read about it in Romans 11 16 Now if the hallah offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole loaf. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you - a wild olive - were grafted in among them and have become equal sharers in the rich root of the olive tree, 18 then don't boast as if you were better than the branches! However, if you do boast, remember that you are not supporting the root, the root is supporting you. 19 So you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." 20 True, but so what? They were broken off because of their lack of trust. However, you keep your place only because of your trust. So don't be arrogant; on the contrary, be terrified! 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he certainly won't spare you!

  24. Parsha 22 So take a good look at God's kindness and his severity: on the one hand, severity toward those who fell off; but, on the other hand, God's kindness toward you - provided you maintain yourself in that kindness! Otherwise, you too will be cut off! 23 Moreover, the others, if they do not persist in their lack of trust, will be grafted in; because God is able to graft them back in. 24 For if you were cut out of what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree! 25 For, brothers, I want you to understand this truth which God formerly concealed but has now revealed, so that you won't imagine you know more than you actually do.

  25. Cultivated Olive Tree Roots are Torah, the trunk is Saved Israel and the branches are Messianic Jews

  26. Parsha Once you have been grafted in, you are then adopted into G-d’s true Congregation. There’s no conversion if you’re already Born Again. You’re just going to the right tree

  27. Parsha How long do you think the tree with the pagan roots is going to last? It can’t sustain itself!

  28. Parsha • Are you saying that some people who are Born Again will come crashing down and not make it to heaven??? • Yes, Mark 4 tells us this… • 1 Again Yeshua began to teach by the lake, but the crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat on the lake and sat there, while the crowd remained on shore at the water's edge. 2 He taught them many things in parables. In the course of his teaching, he said to them: 3 "Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he sowed, some seed fell alongside the path; and the birds came and ate it up.

  29. Parsha • 5 Other seed fell on rocky patches where there was not much soil. It sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow; 6 but when the sun rose, the young plants were scorched; and since their roots were not deep, they dried up. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked it; so that it yielded no grain. 8 But other seed fell into rich soil and produced grain; it sprouted, and grew, and yielded a crop -- thirty, sixty, even a hundred times what was sown." 9 And he concluded, "Whoever has ears to hear with, let him hear!"

  30. Parsha • So, if you’re a Gentile Believer, and now you’re a Messianic Jew. You’re adopted into the family. You’re one of Jacob’s own even though you may have been raised in Mitzrayim (Egypt, a foreign land).

  31. Brit Hadasha Reading 31 He went down to K'far-Nachum, a town in the Galil, and made a practice of teaching them on Shabbat. 32 They were amazed at the way he taught, because his word carried the ring of authority. 33 In the synagogue there was a man who had an unclean demonic spirit, who shouted in a loud voice,

  32. Brit Hadasha Reading 34 "Yaah! What do you want with us, Yeshua from Natzeret? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are -- the Holy One of God!" 35 But Yeshua rebuked it: "Be quiet, and come out of him!" The demonic spirit threw the man down in the middle of the crowd and came out of him, having done him no harm.

  33. Brit Hadasha Reading 36 They were all astounded and said to one another, "What kind of teaching is this? Why, he gives orders with power and authority to the unclean spirits, and they come out!"

  34. Brit Hadasha Reading 37 And reports about him went out through the whole surrounding district. 38 Leaving the synagogue, he went to Shim`on's house. Shim`on's mother-inlaw was suffering from a high fever, and they asked him to do something for her. 39 So, standing over her, he rebuked the fever; and it left her. She immediately got up and began helping them. 40 After sunset, all those who had people sick with various diseases brought them to Yeshua, and he put his hands on each one of them and healed them;

  35. Brit Hadasha Reading 41 also demons came out of many, crying, "You are the Son of God!" But, rebuking them, he did not permit them to say that they knew he was the Messiah. 42 When day had come, he left and went away to a lonely spot. The people looked for him, came to him and would have kept him from leaving them. 43 But he said to them, "I must announce the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the other towns too -- this is why I was sent." 44 He also spent time preaching in the synagogues of Y'hudah.

  37. Last week we read from Philo’s work “On The Creation”. This week we’ll be reading from the apocryphal book of Jubilees. Chapters 1-2 (Disclaimer) Although I strongly believe we should read these books, that doesn’t mean I always agree with them on every point. Extra Readings

  38. I also caution that one should always remember they are not always reading canon. We also want to remain sharp and critical when reading extra-Biblical writings. It’s easier for most pastors to just simply not read them. We don’t feel that way, we feel it is imperative to read these writings and that often times without knowledge of their content we can walk into theological error. Extra Readings

  39. The Book of Jubilees verses 1-9 1. And it came to pass in the first year of the exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt, in the third month, on the sixteenth day of the month, that God spake to Moses, saying: "Come up to Me on the Mount, and I will give thee two tables of stone of the law and of the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayst teach them." 2. And Moses went up into the mount of God, and the glory of the Lord abode on Mount Sinai, and a cloud overshadowed it six days. 3. And He called to Moses on the… Extra Readings

  40. the seventh day out of the midst of the cloud, and the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a flaming fire on the top of the Mount. 4. And Moses was on the Mount forty days and forty nights, and God taught him the earlier and the later history of the division of all the days of the law and of the testimony. Extra Readings

  41. 5. And He said: "Incline thine heart to every word which I shall speak to thee on this Mount, and write them  in a book in order that their generations may see how I have not forsaken them for all the evil which they have wrought in transgressing the covenant which I establish between Me and thee for their generations this day on Mount Sinai. 6. And thus it will come to pass when all these things come upon them,  that they will recognize that I am more righteous than they in all their judgments and in all their actions, and they will recognize that I have been truly with them. Extra Readings

  42. 7. And do thou write for thyself  all these words which I declare unto thee this day, for I know their rebellion and their stiff neck,  before I bring them into the land of which I sware to their fathers, to Abraham and to Isaac and to Jacob, saying: "Unto your seed will I give a land flowing with milk and honey. Extra Readings

  43. 8. And they will eat and be satisfied, and they will turn to strange gods, to (gods) which cannot deliver them from aught of their tribulation: "and this witness shall be heard for a witness against them.  9. For they will forget all My commandments, (even) all that I command them, and they will walk after the Gentiles, and after their uncleanness, and after their shame, and will serve their gods, and these will prove unto them an offence and a tribulation and an affliction and a snare. 47. Correction Last week I was asked a question about Capernaum and it’s location. I got Capernaum and Kinerete mixed up. However the point still stands on what I was making concerning Peter and his move from Bethesda.

  48. 33 In the synagogue there was a man who had an unclean demonic spirit, who shouted in a loud voice, 34 "Yaah! What do you want with us, Yeshua from Natzeret? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are -- the Holy One of God!" 35 But Yeshua rebuked it: "Be quiet, and come out of him!" The Rebbe’s Parsha Luke 4:31-5:11

  49. 31 He went down to K'far-Nachum, a town in the Galil, and made a practice of teaching them on Shabbat. The Rebbe’s Parsha Luke 4:31-5:11

  50. So Yeshua goes to Capernaum in the Galilee and what does it say here? He makes a practice of teaching on the Shabbat! The Rebbe’s Parsha Luke 4:31-5:11
