Conferences, Workshops & Seminars • The ‘Wheels into Africa’ Conference, ‘Defending Price with OEM’s’ Workshop & ‘Get your Wheels Turning’ Seminar provide delegates with new critical insight into developments, trends, opportunities, threats as well as influences (political, social, labour, skills, technological, financial) around doing business in the automotive sector in Africa. • Topics of “Global best practice manufacturing” and “Contract negotiation” also enjoy in-depth consideration. • Aluminium Federation of South Africa, has confirmed that they will hold their annual conference as part of the South African Automotive Week and will encourage all their members to participate in the various activities on offer.

  12. ‘WHEELS INTO AFRICA’ CONFERENCE Hosted by : International Topic Experts Date : 3 & 4 October 2007 Place : The Auditorium, The Boardwalk Casino & Entertainment Complex Africa, the way forward: Spiraling domestic demand (at record levels) for vehicle and vehicle components and accessories, together with low manufacturing cost base and access to world markets, has placed Africa under the spotlight as both a potential manufacturing base and market. Economies in most of the countries in the region are growing, and there is an increasing need for the full range of motorized transport, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, trucks, tractors and motorcycles. Within the next few years South Africa alone is projected to manufacture and sell over 1 million vehicles a year.
