SCADA Uniform Conversion Project City Council Workshop January 14, 2014

The SCADA Uniform Conversion Project aims to update outdated supervisory control and data acquisition systems at Palm Coast's Water and Wastewater plants.   2. What is SCADA? Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition – Software/Graphics package that allows a HMI (Human Machine Interface) for automation, monitoring and control of all Palm Coast Water & Wastewater plants. SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION (SCADA) Uniform Conversion Project

  3. Conversion driven by necessity to replace outdated hardware and software. Existing SCADA software is incompatible with Windows 7 and hardware is in need of replacement. • Conversion will allow a standardized hardware & software platform for inter-connectivity between all Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities SCADA Uniform Conversion Project Justification

SCADA Uniform Conversion Project Selection Process • RFP process was utilized to select SCADA system supplier/integrator. • Three proposals were submitted. • The Selected provider was chosen in the ranking process and has also performed successfully on similar projects for the Utility. • Other proposals were significantly higher due to mark up on software, higher overhead and higher integration costs.
