Department of Complex energy systems Department of solar energy Department of wind power Department of hydro energetic Structure of Institute of renewable energy of Ukraine Department of organic energy sources Department of geothermal energy Windpower Center of Ukraine Crimea technical and science center of energy saving and renewable energy Department of implementation

  3. The multipurpose integrated hybridwind/PV energy system with control and converting unit (CCU) for autonomous &grid reserve energy supply

  4. Wind energy conversion system (WECS) • with the aeromechanical pitch regulation system • with low-speed synchronous generators with permanent magnets (PMG) • including hybrid wind/PV control and converting unit (CCU).

  5. Structure diagram CPU – processor; I1 – wind turbine generator current sensor; I2 – inverter and charging unit current sensor; U – battery voltage sensor; Bat - battery; F – fan; W – wind turbine; WCC – wind turbine generator current controller; LCD – liquid crystal display; S – sound; I/CU – unit that works in inverter or charging unit modes; Output 220V – output outlet; CP – control panel; R1 – relay that connects output 220V to the inverter or to the grid; Input 220V – outlet for connection to the grid 220V; T1 – battery temperature sensor; T2 – radiator temperature sensor; GCU – grid control unit; Technology description

  6. The aeromechanical pitch regulation system The blades are turned around their axles by the stabilizers which are placed behind trailing edges of the blades. This system was proposed by professor G. Sabinin in the fifties. We improved this system by changing the method of stabilizer deflection. Our aeromechanical pitch regulation system ensures reliable and effective Wind turbine operation at the wind speed from 2.5 to 55 m/s even when wind is gusty. Low rated wind speed Our wind turbines have rated wind speed about 7.5 – 9 m/s. It is lower than rated wind speed of the most similar wind turbines of the other manufacturers. Technology description

  7. The comparison of VEU-075 with two other windmills. VEU-075 has higher power in the most widespread range of wind speed (from 3 to 7 m/s). So ,it produces more energy per month at the same average wind speed. WEU-075 Instantaneous power dependenceon the wind speed Power output dependence on the average wind speed (per month) The differences and advantages

  8. Price and price per kW of the most similar Wind turbine of other manufacturers * - Incl. 7m. Mast** - Incl. Batt. Charge. Control*** - Incl. 6m. Mast**** - Incl. 12m. Mast Wind Energy 2003 - Steinbacher Druck GmbH, Osnabruck, Germany The differences and advantages

  9. The CCU differences and advantages

  10. Market opportunity • 1.6 bill of people haven’t • electricity • 0.5 bill have interrupted • 0.5 bill can sale to grid • BUT IT’S ONLY INDIVIDUALS

  11. CCU applications for growing market Wind systems Hybrid wind/PV autonomous systems Hybrid wind/PV/hydro with diesel/gas generators autonomous systems Hybrid systems with grid reserve for uninterruptedenergy supply for saving money Hybrid systems withgrid connected for making money(green tariffs)
