  1. Barking Park Assessment:How can we improve Barking Park so that it can be awarded Green Flag Status?

  2. What is Barking Park like now? • Barking park is an average park for the 21st century. It has some good attractions but some major problems. • The park will be undergoing some ground shaking changes. • Opening of the old lido, new cycle paths, the riverside café and classrooms as well as an open plan nature sk8 and play park.

  3. Good Points? • The good points of this park are that there is loads of nature opportunities and they will be expanding in the near future. • There are some opportunities for children and teenagers [aged 4-16]  • The play park is going to become open plan and the old lido is coming back from the dead.

  4. Bad Points? If you aggravate us on purpose then the rangers will escort u out of da parks. Yh! Leave our mess behind • Barking park has some tagging and anti-social behaviour problems with local youth. • Although you cant stop the forces of nature occurring you can pick up your pets fouling _ don’t worry about the ducks. DUCKS

  5. What we would plan in Barking Park for the future. • In the future, we would plan to completely renovate the park and its features. • We will also ensure first priority safety to all park users.

  6. 1st Proposal WHAT: Our first proposal is to……Build disabled accesses and ramps. WHERE: We will do it……All around the park where there is plat formed of stepped areas. WHY: This will….Able access for the disabled and families to certain areas of the park. WHO: This will appeal to …Families and wheelchair users. HOW: This will help Barking Park fulfil the Green Flag Criteria……This will help Barking Park to for fill the ‘Community Involvement ’ criteria.

  7. 2nd Proposal: • Our second proposal is to: create an indoor crèche and café club for families. • Where: This will take place where the old bowls centre used to be. • Why: this will be an opportunity for parents to socialize and children to have fun. • Who: this will appeal to families with children. • How: This will help Barking Park…. To for fill the ‘Welcoming’ criteria.

  8. 3rd Proposal: • What: Our third proposal is to…create more cycle paths. • Where: We plan to do this all over and through the park. • Why: we are doing this because it will keep people safe by keeping cyclists of the main paths. • Who: This will able to all those keen cyclists and families. • How: this will help for fill the safe and welcoming criteria.

  9. Conclusion This sounds like a FUN park maybe I wont fly south for the winter I’ll just go to the family crèche and café. Overall how will these proposals help Barking Park to gain Green Flag status… These proposals will help by making it a safe, clean and FUN place to be.
