  4. Will you get picked? We will randomly pick out 75 forms We will then separate people based on their preferences (if you don’t get your first choice hopefully you will get your second) We will contact those who have been picked by email To be fair, students will only be able to shadow one of the three services, unless there are extra spots available. If this is the case, there will be a random selection for the extra spots
  5. EPS Ride Along 25 positions Each division has agreed to accommodate 5 students (North, South, West, Downtown, SW) 5pm to 4 am shift FRIDAY or SATURDAY NEED TO AGREE TO A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK or you cannot participate
  6. EPS Ride Along Dress is business casual as you will be representing the EPS Bring a warm coat and dress appropriately for the weather Some Police stop for food and others bring a lunch…. So bring some cash and/or a bagged lunch Bring some change and a cell phone
  7. EPS Ride Along You will follow them on every call unless they feel there is too much risk to your safety You can choose to remain in the vehicle etc. if you feel uncomfortable You are not allowed to interfere in investigations as you are only an observer This information will be discussed with you at the division headquarters as well DON’T BE LATE
  8. Edmonton Fire and Rescue Ride-Along 25 positions All stations across the city participate Choice of station is through the coordinators for the program Shifts are either 9:00am - 3:00pm or 6:00pm - 11:00pm

Edmonton Fire and Rescue Ride-Along Dress is casual as you will be gearing up for each call and will want to be comfortable under your gear You will likely be sharing a meal with the crew (it is a tradition in the hall), but bring a bagged lunch just in case, with snacks for down time Most stations have an area where you can purchase candy and beverages so bring some change as well

Edmonton Fire and Rescue Ride-Along Arrive at the station on time You will be given a tour of the station You will be taught how to gear up You will gear up for every call (both pump and rescue) – this includes car accidents, fires, and false alarms All firefighters are first responders, so you will often be the first to arrive on scene You will only be allowed to observe the action from a safe distance. Please respect this policy.
  11. EMS Ride Along More information will be given at the small group meeting once details have been finalized
  12. If you are participating Group meetings will be set up to discuss specific details You will be required to sign a waiver Time and dates of shifts will be discussed at that point
