  1. Teaching in Physical Education To teach educations, we must be prepared as educators.

  2. Teaching Rationale • Throughout a students educational career, they will learn information from a myriad of subjects that they use on a day to day basis. Math, Science, and Language arts represent the majority of the “important subjects” students learn. • Physical education is equally on par with the importance of the other core subjects. Students need to understand how to develop themselves social, physically, and emotionally through an enriched curriculum instructed by a well prepared and well equipped teacher. • Poor physical education could show poor performance in other subject areas as well.

  3. Being Prepared as Teachers • Physical educators need to become well versed in the latest teaching equipment and teaching aids to provide quality instruction to all students. • The classroom equipment can does NOT mean more expensive. Simple and creative solutions to improvise equipment needs can make the cost significantly cheaper.

  4. Blue Wave Water Log Noodles Pool noodles are great toys for a swimming pool. However they present and endless array of fitness activities in Physical education class. By cutting them in half you can double the amount of originally purchased noodles. They are made out of safe soft composite foam. No injury from swinging or impact.

  5. Activities Can be used for various tagging oriented lessons, using the noodle as a tagging extension can safely teach spatial awareness while maintaining safety for other students. Lessons aimed to teaching cooperative learning can be elaborated and fun by giving every students a noodle section and told to perform a different task. Many other activities can be created by using noodles. The possibilities are endless

Scooters allows students to manipulate their body and move themselves in a different way other than walking. This promotes muscular strength and muscular endurance. This piece of equipment is an extremely effective teaching aid for teaching spatial awareness, because they are moving around on wheels with less control than walking, more thought and strategy is required to move around safely.

  7. Tug Of War 50' Rope • Tug of War rope can be used as it was intended by splitting classes up and paying and game of strength. • Other uses include boundary games, and group assignments for problem solving.

  8. Flaghouse Activity Walking Trail Teaching flexibility and balance is one of the core concepts that physical educator teaches. This balance trail is unique due to the universal nature of the trials. The beams can be disconnected and rejoined in different shapes to increase and decrease the difficulty. The beams and connectors are soft and will not cause injury if students slip.

  9. J-MAT The J-MAT is a workout system that is produced by Xavix Studios and sponsored by Jackie Chan, Martial Arts Expert. This software is used in conjunction with the a television. The student would run in place on the mat provided to make the man on the screen move. The student would increase and decrease speed, dodge obstacles, and jump on the pad. This software would measure coordination and levels of endurance in a fun relatable way.

  10. Closing Statement • As educators, we need to work together to provide the best learning environments and curriculums as possible to promote a students ultimate want to learn. • With various pieces of equipment, teachers are allowed more creative freedom to express the meanings of their lessons effectively, challenge students to improve their skills, and to create a fun learning environment for everyone.
