  4. August 2007 Morton Arboretum • Maintain interstate EAB regulation • Support IDA and municipalities in EAB management • Promote technology transfer

  5. June 2008 City of Chicago • Prevent/Reduce interstate movement of EAB • Support IDA, City of Chicago, municipalities in EAB management • Promote technology transfer and outreach

  6. August 2008 Deerfield • Status report regarding ALB find • Collaborate with IDA in rapid response survey, site/residential/commercial visits • Information sharing regarding ALB life cycle, host, characteristics, etc. • Establish ALB reporting Hot Line

  8. What can you expect from USDA APHIS? Consistency - Regardless of pest, e.g. EAB, ALB, Gypsy moth, P. ramorum, etc. – response is the same. • Interstate regulation – Compliance, inspection, etc. • Program support – Survey, control, supplies, etc. • Message – “I hope this is evident.”

  9. What can you expect from USDA APHIS? Cooperation - Regardless of pest, e.g. EAB, ALB, Gypsy moth, P. ramorum, etc. – response is the same. • Resource sharing – MOU with USFS, other agencies • Funding – Cooperative Agreements • Standardization – Compatible state to state response
