Welcome to the 7th Grade Language Arts class for 2012-2013 with Miss Sagar and Mrs. Kear in Dublin, Ohio! In our class, we foster a learning environment grounded in Comet PRIDE: Positive Decisions, Respect, Involvement, Dependability, and Expecting Success. Students are expected to be prepared, respectful, and punctual. Homework is designed for practice, and students are encouraged to correct work they've submitted on time.   5. Language Arts expectations • Be on time to class every day • Come prepared (pencil, blue binder, reading book, etc.) • Be respectful of others • Do your best

  6. Discipline Policy • Verbal warning • Refocus form • Parent phone call • Detention • Discipline = the result of your CHOICES! • Make positive CHOICES

  7. Daily Materials • Pencil – EVERY day! • Daily planner/assignment book • Blue Lang. Arts binder with dividers • Reading book (when assigned)

  8. Homework • Homework does NOT = busy work • Practice, Practice, Practice! • Homework pass • Turn in for bonus points at the end of nine weeks

  9. Grades • Homework/in-class work • Quizzes • Material checks • Tests/projects

  10. Re-do • You may CHOOSE to correct/re-do any in-class assignments, quizzes or homework (if it was turned in ON TIME) • You have FIVE school days from the original due date • I will not hunt you down for these assignments. Be RESPONSIBLE!

  11. In case of fire… • Exit room 16 to the RIGHT • Go up the stairs by boy’s locker room • Assemble on the basketball court

  12. In case of a tornado… • Exit to the RIGHT • Into the boys’ locker room • Stay SILENT & listen for your name

  13. Supply Cart • For your use during class time • Please put items back when finished • Keep organized!

  14. Miss Sagar’s desk • NOT the supply cart! • Ask before touching/taking anything!

  15. Cell Phone/Electronic Devices • Allowed: • Before & after school • Between classes • During lunch • NOT allowed: • During class time unless specified by teacher • Green zone/red zone

  16. Cell Phones/Electronic Devices • Do not check the time – there is a clock in the room • Keep on silent or shut off – NO vibrate mode • Consequences: • I will take it from you • It will be sent to the office • Your parent/guardian will have to come pick it up for you

  17. Restroom/Hall pass • First & last ten minutes of every period • No one is allowed out • Find a time that works best for you • Sign in & out on the clipboard • Take with you in the hall
