HIV/AIDS N.D. • In 1981 scientists identified AIDS as one of the worst infectious diseases in human history • First known as the Kaposi Sarcoma but then CDC later called it AIDS • Federal government never really took action until the epidemic was wide spread • From there the government took action inform people about how to prevent AIDS and HIV

  3. Sandra Day O’Connor • An assistant attorney general and judge at a Maricopa County Superior Court • Supreme Court Justice under Reagan • Appointed in 1981 • Became the first appointed female Supreme Court Justice M.B.

When-Conceived March 23, 1983 Why- Defend from Soviet Union Significance- Ended up not working, became known as “Star Wars” for the far-fetched ideas.
