You plan on keeping them as a kit. • Catalog • Parental – choose parent item based on loan period you want for the entire set! • Circulate as a set • Check out • In checkout, bring up teacher. • Search / highlight set. • Click Check out button – one click does all items.
Mr. X does a unit on the Holocaust every year. You want items to circulate normally most of the time. Make those items a temporary set. • Catalog • Parental • Uncheck Circulate as a set. • Items on shelves as normal. • Checkout • Collect items. • Modify set - check Circulate as set. • Check out set to teacher.
Temporary set cont’d. • Checkin • When set is returned, check in set. • Modify set – Uncheck circ as set. • Items will circulate normally again. • Set contents can be updated at any time as items are added to your collection or weeded.
Mrs. X does a unit on Ohio every year. You have identified books and DVDs she likes. The DVDs are popular and you want them returned sooner than the books. DVDs normally circ only 3 days. • Catalog • Non-parental • Circulate as a set • Assign a separate set barcode • Checkout • In checkout, bring up teacher. • Search / highlight set. • Click Check out button – one click does all items. • DVD loan period will be shorter than the books.
Display Circulation Sets • Click Display Set wizard or use any Item Search helper. • Search for • 3 (all set IDs start with 3 due to barcode validation) • change index to Set ID.

1 3 2 Adding Circulation Sets • Search for your titles You don’t need to handle any items! • When you click OK on the search screen, the items will appear on your set screen. • Enter a description for your set.
1 2 Adding Circulation Sets (cont.) Set ID’s: Non-parental • Do not check the parental box. • The system will automatically assign a barcode number to the set in the 97000000X range, or you can scan in a dumb barcode.
1 2 3 Adding Circulation Sets (cont.) Set ID’s: Parental • Check the parental box. • The system will automatically select an item to be the parent ID. • If you want a different title to be the parent, highlight the title and click Make Parent.
Adding Circulation Sets (cont.) Determine circulation status • Check Circulate as Set if this is a permanent set. • Uncheck Circulate as Set if this is a temporary set.
Adding Circulation Sets (cont.) Create the set. • When you’re done creating the set, click Add Set. • WARNING! The clear button clears everything, not just a highlighted title!!
Modify Circulation Set • Once a set is created, you need to use this wizard to: • add items • change description • change parental status • change circulation status • remove items
Remove Circulation SetWizard removes whole sets, not individual items. • Search for your sets. • Highlight the one to remove from the list. • Click Remove This Set. • NOTE: This does not remove the items from the database.
