  2. Who He Was • Born as Chapu, in Ethiopia during 1549 • Pawned off for family survival • Fell into the hands of Mir Qasim Baghdadi • Resold on the Slave Market for much more • Chengiz Khan (Chief Minister or “Peshwa” of Ahmadnagar) • Freed by his widow • Became the Prime Minister of Aurangabad

  3. Where? • While enslaved, He traveled around the horn of Africa, the Middle East, and India • Under Mir Qasim Baghdadi, he lived in Iraq • Under Chengiz Khan, he lived in the city of Ahmadnagar, India • While “King” he lived in the City of Aurangabad, India

  4. What He’s Known For • He saved the city of Ahmadnagar from the Mughals • The Mughals could not defeat him • Guerrilla Warfare Tactics • Brought the city of Aurangabad to a rise • Did this all from being pawned as an Ethiopian Slave
