Options to move forward • Given the different stages of maturity of the regulation with respect to medium and large power transformers, there are a number of options to move forward: • Option A: Adopt the proposal of the Technical Subgroup for LPTs (or variations thereof) and push a regulation with minimum requirements for both medium and large power transformers. • Option B: Wait for sufficient/reliable data to be available for LPTs and push ahead then with one regulation for minimum requirements for MPTs and LPTs. • Option C: Move ahead with minimum requirements for MPTs and product information requirements only (peak efficiency) for LPTs. Establish minimum requirements for LPTs as of the review of the regulation (not earlier than 2020). • Option D: Move ahead with minimum requirements for MPTs only (and possibly information requirements for LPTs) and prepare a separate regulation for LPTs when sufficient/reliable data are available.
