  1. Expanding # FAX enabled site movers Simone Campana

Expanding FAX fallback • There is general consensus we should expand # of sites falling back to FAX for StageIN • We should extend to prod queues • Remember that for analysis queues some sites do not use copy-to-scratch • See email thread from Paul/Wahid with technical details • Needs latest DQ2 clients. Will be picked from CVMFS. Needs small modicication in pilot wrapper (John/Jose/Peter). Status?

  3. Expanding FAX fallback (proposal) • We can start from HammerCloud jobs • The current RC pilot allows • To enable/disable FAX on the fly (together with any other QueueData) • Reports the usage of FAX in the JobMetrics • we need the FAX monitoring to know what FAX decided • We should test the same site w and w/o FAX and compare • We can also “break” the site for normal StageIn and get everything through FAX • We should also resurrect the copy-2-scratch vsdirectIo tests in the same way

  4. Timescale • It would be great to have some numbers by the ATLAS jamboree • The results should motivate further FAX deployment • Ramon can follow this up from the HammerCloud part • Need some good willing site (if you want I can propose someone from North UK)
