  23. What Does Kentucky Law Say About Littering • 512.010 DEFINITION"Litter" means rubbish, refuse, waste material, offal, paper, glass, cans, bottles, trash, debris or any foreign substance of whatever kind or description and whether or not it is of value.

What Does Kentucky Law Say About Littering • 512.070 CRIMINAL LITTERING • Penalty: Class A Misdemeanor ~ Fine up to $500 or up to one year in jail or both • A person is guilty of criminal littering when he/she:Drops or permits to drop on a highway any destructive or injurious material and does not immediately remove it; or • Knowingly places or throws litter on any public or private property or in any public or private water without permission; or • Negligently places or throws glass or other dangerous pointed or edged substances on or adjacent to water to which the public has access for swimming or wading or on or within fifty (50) feet of a public highway; or • Discharges sewage, minerals, oil products or litter into any public waters or lakes within the state.

  26. PRIDE Spring Clean Up!! • April is PRIDE Spring Cleanup Month in southern and eastern Kentucky! Throughout the month, volunteers will pick up trash along roads, waterways and other scenic areas. PRIDE will give each volunteer a free T-shirt, as well as supply their trash bags, gloves and vests. PRIDE will help local governments pay for trash disposal and beautification projects. Local PRIDE Coordinators will organize each community’s Spring Cleanup activities.
