  1. Watchmen that see… Habakkuk 2:1I will standmy watch, And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.

  2. Preparing to see…STAND • To stand you have to take up your position in prayer, in waiting, in seeing, in watching. Taking this position requires patience and selflessness. • There are no guarantees that it will be profitable to self, bear any fruit. It is selfless to enter into this level of relationship with God. • A watchman whose watch passes without encounter will not be remembered. • A watchman at sleep when encounter comes will be remembered with shame in times of war. • A watchman on the watch when encounter comes, will have a life-long testimony, an eternal legacy in God’s kingdom.

Preparing to see…SET • To set yourself is to take a decision to go from where you are to a place where you do not usually spent time. • It means to take up responsibility (you did not previously had, that nobody forces upon you). • To report for duty, to say YES. • To station yourself is to take a position. • To station yourself is to say I will not be moved from this place until my ‘watch’ is over, not matter what may happen. • To station yourself is to FOCUS on the task set before you and NOT YOURSELF!

Preparing to see…WATCH • To watch is to look until you see something. • The goal IS NOT to only describe ‘what you see’, • To watch is to look until you see with understanding. • To watch is very intense – it is not a casual observation of things. • To watch is to be on the lookout for something that is not yet visible, so you will notice it the MOMENT it becomes visible to the eye. • The eyes of someone used to watch is trained to observe something before someone who merely ‘looks without intention’ will observe it. • To watch is to be ‘sure’ something is about to happen. To look intensely, to wait to see something is the definition of WATCH. Although it is not visible, you have an expectation that something might become visible at any moment. • To watch is to BELIEVE in what you can NOT YET SEE!

Preparing to see…SEE • To see means to be able to finally observe what has become clear from watching. • Only after you have watched something with attention, you will be able to see when it manifests and have understanding thereof. • When something becomes visible/manifests, we say that we can ‘see’ it. • Understanding therefore is added to what we have been ‘watching’ for.

  6. Preparing to see…SAY • ‘What He will say’ implicates that once that which you perceived (watched for) has become clear (seen), understanding will follow (what He will say). • His Word is His revelation. • When things become ‘clear’ we receive understanding about it. • Pray for the ‘Spirit of wisdom and revelation’.(Eph.1:17 Amp) is asking God to explain to us what we see in the Holy Spirit. It does not always make sense to the ‘mind’ what we receive in the spirit.

  7. Preparing to see…ANSWER • Only when we come to understand the Word/message of the Lord to us in a specific situation, we can in real wisdom properly respond to what is set before us. • ‘What I will answer’ here means; what are we going to do with what we understand from His speaking/revelation to us. • You have to respond – it is part of the process of STANDING, SETTING, WATCHING. If you miss this part, it might seem over time as if ‘nothing is happening’. Obedience remains better than sacrifice.

Preparing to see…CORRECTED • Usually when we set ourselves to prayer, we do so to gain understanding about something not clear to us. • We do so with confidence that God do have an answer for us. • When we come to the understanding of God’s view/perspective on a situation, we are set right in our own perceptions on a matter, His thoughts must now become our thoughts. • Our response/answer reflects what is in our hearts; • When corrected, do we accept and embrace the correction? • Do we defend ourselves explaining why we view differently? • Your RESONSE reflects your heart.

  9. This week pray to SEE… SEE: • To remain positioned until a matter becomes clear. • To patiently look until you KNOW what you see. SAY: • Expectantly wait for the revelation of His WORD. (Eph.1:17) • To perceive by the Spirit of God in us and not in our minds or from our thinking. ANSWER: • Response to be according to His will and purpose. • Humble heart that easily surrender. CORRECTED: • For a response that reflects the heart of Christ in my heart. STAND: • To find & take position in prayer. • For patience & complete selflessness. • To remain standing - Eph. 6 SET: • To say YES every day, over and over again. • To persevere and remain in that place for as long as necessary, not as long as I can bear it. • To focus on task and not self. WATCH: • To be on the lookout for the things of God's Spirit. • To be trained to observe by the Holy Spirit. • To have faith that God will answer.
