Traffic Management Office TMF Expectations to help provide “You” a smooth move experience • Ask all the questions you can think of during this brief/forum for others that might have the same questions or concerns. • Upon visiting TMO with a copy of your orders, fill out the Form 65 and we will send you an email with instructions for DPS login/password (if applicable). • Once we receive this information we will be able to set up your briefing.

Off Base Residents • IF YOU LIVE OFF BASE YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING IN A MAP WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO YOUR OFF BASE RESIDENCE. • YOU CAN GET ONE FROM THE HOUSING OFFICE OR YOUR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FILE IN YOUR SQ. • **IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE US WITH A MAP AT THE TIME OF YOUR BRIEFING, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BRIEF YOU**

  4. Traffic Management Office Pack & Pick up Dates • You the member will determine when you want your property picked up. We can accommodate times from Monday – Friday 0800-1700, excluding Federal and Portuguese Holidays. Please plan accordingly. Once you receive your orders, come into our office immediately to set up for your move. This is especially important for short notice PCS cases. Agents will contact you when shipment is confirmed. If it is 3 days before the pick up date you requested, and you have not received confirmation from an agent, contact our office immediately. * NOTE: After Pack/Pick up dates have been booked and confirmed, dates can only be changed for emergencies or valid reasons (NOT personal convenience). Date changes must have Traffic Management Officer Approval.

Traffic Management Office Non-Temporary Storage (NTS) • TMO here at Lajes can assist you with the release of NTS • Member’s have the option to release NTS at destination TMO Items that can be shipped as Unaccompanied Baggage: • Televisions less than 27” • Computers • Bicycles • Linens • Dishes • Baby cribs (that can be broken down) etc… Note: NO Furniture items can be shipped

Traffic Management Office Estimated Transit Times • Code J Unaccompanied Baggage (AIR): 30-45 days • Code 5 (CONUS) Household Goods (Vessel): 60-70 days • Code T (OCONUS) Household Goods (Air): 30-45 days Firearms/Weapons If you are shipping firearms, we will need the make, model, serial number and caliber of your weapon at the time of your counseling. This information is placed on your customs paperwork for clearance purposes. Also make sure that your weapon(s) are placed in the number 1 container of your HHG’s.

Traffic Management Office Alcohol • Please see a TMO Representative for additional instructions Mail Reimbursement • You may elect to ship personal items using the Postal Service to your gaining base. For reimbursement TMO will need a copy of Orders, all receipts with weights and cost for postal shipments. • TMO does not reimburse for insurance, boxes, and packing material. • Members must come into our office before electing to do a mail reimbursement to receive a DD Form 2278. Note: Reimbursement is only authorized as long as weight entitlement has not been exceeded.

Traffic Management Office Motorcycle Shipments IF SHIPPING A MOTORCYCLE, PLEASE HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: MAKE & MODEL YEAR BUILT PLACE OF MANUFACTER VIN NUMBER ENGINE NUMBER AND CC ESTIMATED WEIGHT You will be required to drain all oil and gasoline prior to shipment. Your motorcycle must be inspected before pickup.

Traffic Management Office Traffic Management Office Port of Call Information • We need 2 separate port call requests if dependents are departing before the member. • We need passport numbers, expiration, & dates of birth for all dependents. • Pets: We require dimensions of the kennel LWH in inches & the total weight to include the pet. • If you ship your POV from Lajes to a Conus location other than Norfolk, VA we will need a copy of your DD Form 788. • We will need your GTC/CSA Number & Expiration date. If you don’t have one you will have to receive and provide our office a commander or 1st Sergeant letter authorizinng you to use our CBA account.
