  1. General Body Meeting September 14th, 2009

  2. Team Building Activity • Break into groups of 4 to 5 • No more than one person from each discipline • Pick up materials from front table • 1 piece of paper • Pencils • Crayons

  3. Design Our T-shirt • Design the Tau Beta Pi T-shirt for this year • Designs do not have to be finalized, basic ideas acceptable • You have ten minutes to brainstorm and design • Everyone will vote at end of ten minutes • Winning Design will get FREE T-shirts

  4. Vote for your T-shirt • Place a post-it note on the design that you like the most • All post-its will be counted and winner will be announced by end of meeting

  5. Active Member Req’s • Volunteer Activity • 1 Group Volunteer Activity (3 or more members) • 1 Individual Volunteer Activity • Social Attendance – October 29th at 7 PM • Meeting Attendance (2/3) – Calendar Posted • Fundraising • 1 hour of Fundraising activity

  6. Resume Portfolio • Submission of Resumes for Engineering Day TBP portfolio • Submit Resumes by September 19th to James at jdickson@fsu.edu • Format: • Subject: Major, Name • Example: Mechanical, James Dickson

  7. Volunteer Opportunities • Outreach Programs • CISCOR STEM Outreach • Go to NIMS Middle School to promote science, mathematics, and engineering to students using Lego Mindstorms and other items • The Massie Chair Program • Volunteer with HPMI to promote science, mathematics, and engineering to students in Cairo through presentations • The Brogan Outreach • Promote Engineering with Dr. Oates using smart materials (Saturday Mornings) • Challenger Learning Center • Curriculum for Challenger Center outreach still being developed

Volunteer Opportunities • Engineering Day • Various Volunteers for greeting, lunch, tear down • CoE Club Fair (Sponsored by TBP) • September 30th 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM • Volunteers for setup, tear down, and info table • Pottsdamer Street Clean Up – October 17th at 10:00 • October 23rd & 24th – Halloween Howl

  9. Fundraising Opportunities • FE Book Sale – Sept. 30th 10:30 – 2:00 • Bake Sale – October 7th 10:00 – 2:30 • FE Book Sale – October 7th 10:30 – 2:00 • FE Book Sale – October 14th 10:30 – 2:00

  10. FE Review Sessions • FE Exam October 24th • Review Sessions in process of being set-up • Naming of Chair • FE Reference Book Sales very important • New Eighth Edition - $10.00 for non-members • Tell your friends

New Member Recruitment • Spring 2009 acceptance rate was 14% of eligible students • Encourage friends, underclassmen, classmates to join! • Eligible Candidate names are posted on website / will be posted on posters – look for people you know and talk to them • WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS!

  12. Initiate Work • Signature Sheets • Advertise that you are a TBP member to let initiates know • Ask a question about TBP, make sure to know the answer • Point them in the direction of other members if they ask
