  23. Disconnet power from machine tools before performing maintenance or adjustments

  27. Keep the shop floor clean of scraps and litter

  28. Store oily rags or waste in metal containers

  29. Clean up spilled liquids immediately

  30. Clean chips from machine with a brush-NOT with a ray or bare hands

  31. Keep tools picked up and stored properly when not in use

  32. Only the operator should be around a machine or start it

  33. Do not stand in line of a revolving tool or flywheel

  34. Keep your mind on the job when using power equipment; avoid conversation with other students

  35. Know location of fire extiguishers and hot to operate them

  36. Do not use defective electrical equipment, etension cords, plugs, etc

  37. Steps in maintaining a clean and orderly shop

  38. Keep machinery and equipment arranged to permit safe and efficient work practices and ease of cleaning
