  7. Billy Wright • Former LVF terrorist leader. • Known for directing and waging acts of terror from his jail cell • 1997, INLA broke into the Maze Prison and carried out a successful assassination of Billy Wright. • The assassination sparked riots, retaliation attacks

  8. Peace Process • 1994, “No First Strike” Policy, later broken by Good Friday Agreement • 1998 Announcement of Ceasefire • 2009, Dublin Brigade stood down

  9. Today's INLA • They are a centralized, unified and politically committed. • They still carry out attacks, still the danger of recruiting Provisional IRA activists impatient with the ceasefire. • Active in defense of the working class communities from loyalist gang attacks
