  1. Welcome to the Charlevoix Alano Club! Spend a few minutes watching this quick power point presentation to learn more about us and how you can access our programs and services.

Who we are… • The official name of our organization is: Serenity House – Alano Club of Charlevoix • Our mission is to provide space for 12-step groups to have addiction recovery meetings and provide social opportunities to our membership • We are a non-profit corporation that was founded in 1985 governed by a volunteer board of directors elected from our membership

  4. What we’ve been doing (and will continue)… • We offer space for 12-step groups to have their meetings in a consistent location that is all their own with privacy, dignity and safety • We currently host: • 17 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week • 6 Men’s meetings • 2 Women’s meetings • 1 Alanon meeting per week • 1 Overeater’s Anonymous meeting per week • 1 Open Speaker / Potluck meeting per month

There’s more for club members… • Our new facility is wi-fi accessible to club members, so laptops at the club between meetings will become common place • We are multi-media equipped with big screen projector for dvd’s, internet programs, television events with stereo surround system capabilities • Friday and Saturday nights will become “Activity Nights” at the club as members develop plans for different activities and organize them for healthy social interaction in an alcohol & drug free environment

And for community members… • We will coordinate educational presentations and programs for the community to help people learn more about addiction and recovery related topics • We will utilize local experts in the addiction recovery field as well as additional guest speakers on topics that are pertinent to our mission and of interest to our membership • We will also access web-cast programs for public broadcast at our facility

  7. To become a member… • Membership is $50 per year, $5 per month, or $1,000 for lifetime membership • We also have special rates for married couples at $75 for both annually • Send a check to our mailing address: 106 Mason St, Charlevoix, MI 49720 • Or drop your dues check or cash into one of our membership envelopes in the “drop box” inside • Please include first and last name, address, phone number, email address

  8. Our new building project details… • The total project cost $250,000 that involved demolishing our former two story facility, renovating our “back room meeting space” and adding a new addition for a total of 2,200 square feet of space with full kitchen facilities, four bathrooms, basement for storage, multi-media components and beautiful landscaping to add to the beauty of downtown Charlevoix • This project has been in the works since 2004 • As of 8/29/09, the building project is debt free
