  2. December NTF Words • We will look at each word, discuss its root, prefix and suffix, and note any spelling changes. • We will chant the letters in each word. • We will write each word once. • We will post the words on the NTF Word Wall to reference.

  3. December NTF Words continuous • Means “without interruption” • its root is continue • its suffix is –ous(-ous means “full of”) • spelling change – e is dropped from continue when -ousis added

  4. December NTF Words conversation • Means “the informal exchange of ideas by spoken words” • its root is converse • its suffix is –ation(denotes an action or an instance of it) • spelling change – e is dropped from root word

  5. December NTF Words forgotten • Means “failed to remember” (use had before it; example: She had completely forgotten about the deadline.) • its root is forgot • its suffix is –en (means “cause to be or have”) • spelling change – t in forgot is doubled

  6. December NTF Words nonliving • Means “not alive; inanimate; lifeless” • its root is live(which rhymes with “give”) • its prefix is –non (means “the opposite of”) • the suffix is -ing • spelling change – e is dropped from root
