Although the K-2 Circle is a pilot program at Destin Elementary, the model is research based with proven success. • It is a 3 year cycle
The K-2 Circle is made up of 3 teachers and their students: Ms. Noser – Kindergarten Mrs. Woodham – First Grade Mrs. Howell – Second Grade All 3 teachers work closely together and have the same expectations for behavior and academic growth.
Subjects taught: • Ms. Noser – Kindergarten Reading and K,1,2 Science • Mrs. Woodham – 1, 2 Reading and Language Arts, K Writing and Social Studies • Mrs. Howell – K, 1, 2 Math, 1,2 Social Studies
Additional notes: • All students will have PE with their grade level • The K-2 students will have lunch at the same time.
Last but not least: • The students in Ms Noser’s class will become Mrs. Woodham’s 1st grade class next year. MrsWoodham’s 1st grade class will be Mrs. Howell’s 2nd grade class next year.
