Health IT and Patient Safety • Certification/Adoption WG recommendations accepted by HITPC • Recommendations: • Safety Risk Assessment - Menu option • Voluntary reporting of HIT-related events to PSOs • EHR Capability for Stage 3 • Convenient mechanism for users to capture safety risks and incidents • EHR Vendor reporting • Partner with Provider customers • Report to PSO • Standards • Use of surveillance subset of common format (expected Q3 2013) for EHR capture of events/unsafe conditions

HIE Governance Town Halls • Two open listening sessions on governance • Engaged stakeholders on experience, practices, issues, priorities, and suggestions regarding HIE • Stakeholder input will inform ONC activities and assist in advancing governance goals • increase interoperability • decrease cost and complexity of exchange • increase trust

Achieving eHealth Equity Summit • Purpose: • How we can achieve eHealth equity for underserved and minority populations • How we can improve consumer access and utilization of IT in underserved communities • How HIT can improve health outcomes for underserved • February 21, from 8:30-12:30PM at the White House • Sponsored by: • ONC, • Office of Minority Health, • ZeroDivide, Inc., and • Health 2.0 • Summit proceedings will be made publicly available
