  9. 2013-2014 Continuing to train with Dr. Laurie Olsen and the SEAL coaches Aligning our curriculum with Old Gallinas and with each other

Launched the Bilingual Model • Goal is to begin to close the achievement gap by teaching students all academics in Spanish • Kinder 80% in Spanish • 50% in Spanish by 3rd grade • Demands alignment to ensure all groups are working on the same theme and teaching the same skills • Spanish Enrichment is given to non-spanish speakers 30 min per day. (exposure and conversation only)

  33. The Good News! • Last year we raised 28K in Falcon Fund – this year we’ve already Raised 24K!!! • 32% of our families have already made a contribution to our schools programs – We still have 68% left that can help out! • Carnival had a huge year for fundraising!

  34. The Other News….. • We need to raise 44K in order to pay this years bills • Already cut from our budget: • School Supervision Personnel: $10k • We may have to reduce: • Garden hours • K-3 Music hours • Teacher Supply Accounts

  35. How do we meet the Falcon Fund Goals? $180 perfamily donation to the falcon fund would cover ALL of our expenses for THIS YEAR ONLY

  36. Other Ways To Raise Money • Dinner Dance (Tropical Night) • Live and/or Silent Auction at an event • Raffle • Rummage Sale • Dine-For-Dollars Events • Father-Daughter Dance • Mother-Son Event • Use Amazon, sign up for Escrip

  37. How Can You Help? • Give to the Falcon Fund if you haven’t already • Spread the word! Share tonight’s information with other parents, encourage them to give. • Volunteer to make phone calls, 5-15 calls per class • Come to the fundraising meeting on 1/22 with your ideas or contact Amy if you have questions or ideas • Volunteer for potential upcoming events such as a dinner dance, rummage sale, dining events

Next Steps? • Fund Raising meeting 1/22 – 6:30 – 8pm, all are invited (School Library) • Some ideas: Rummage Sale, Dine 4 Dollars, Auctions, Raffles, Mother/Son fun night, etc • Falcon fund campaign continues: • 1/23: Letter home to families that have not contributed • 2/3 – 2/7: Phone calls to individual families who have not contributed
