Geography • The Major Cities are Salt Lake City, Provo, St. George and Ogden. • The land forms are Deserts, Mountains and Canyons. • The Bodies of water are the Colorado and Green Rivers. • The population of Utah is 2,784,572 people. • The weather in Utah is very hot and it gets barely gets any rain. • The land size is 84,904 square miles and is located in the West Region.

History • Utahbecame a state in 1849. • The Native American tribes are the Shoshone, Gosiutes, Ute, and Paiutes. • The immigrant group was The Dominguez-Escalante Expedition. • 5 important dates: In the late 1850's there were 150 communities. In 1865 awful battles broke out between Mormon pioneers and Native American tribes. In 1869 The Transcontinental Railroad was finished. In 1896 Utah becomes the 45th state in the Union. In 1844 Joseph Smith leader of Mormons gets killed by an angry mob in Illinois.

Herbert. • The Capital is Salt Lake City. • The state abbreviation is UT. • The U.S. Representatives are Rob Bishop, Jim Matheson, and Jason Chaffetz. • The U.S. Senators are Robert Bennett, and Mike Lee. • Utah is Republican. • The Constitution of Utah was ratified March 4, 1895.

Economy • The natural resources are mainly minerals. • The manufactured goods are technology, medicines, and roller coasters. • The main industries are mining and tourism. • A famous company in Utah is S&S. • Some farm products are fruits, veggies, and livestock. • Where most people work is a farm, health care, and technology companies. • The unemployment rate is 7.6.
