  7. labor noun Labor is hard work or effort.

  8. treacherous adjective If something is treacherous, it is full of danger.

  9. triumph verb If you triumph over something or someone, you are victorious or successful.

  10. abandon verb If you abandon something, you give it up or leave it forever.

  11. Passengers are instructed on how to abandon a sinking ship. The explorers refused to abandon their expedition. The family was forced to abandon their home as hurricane Sandy roared closer.

  12. Talk to your partner… List adjectives for feelings you may have if you had to abandon something (a house, mission, ship…). Sentence starter: “If I had to abandon something, I might feel _______”
