  3. The white-tailed deer is a mammal with gray to light brown fur. A male weighs 150 to 300 pounds. The female is a little smaller.

  4. These deer live in wooded areas but are often seen in people’s yards. They eat plants such as grass and leaves.

  5. Coyotes will kill deer but people and dogs are their main predators.

  6. One to three babies are born in the spring. The babies are spotted and are called fawns.

  7. White-tailed deer camouflage themselves by going behind trees.

  8. A male can have antlers with 8 points by the time it Is one and a half years old.
