Why are Holy Orders important ? • God wants it: a call from God they couldn’t ignore • A way of showing Vocation (to be prophet, priest and king) • Doing Jesus’ work as “another Christ” to build up the Kingdom of God: • Teach / preach God’s word • Offer God worship and sacrifice • Serve the people : Celebrate the sacraments to give people spiritual strength & healing. ***Which of the things a priest does means that it is better for him to be unmarried ?
