  1. Robin Wood @ Dobroyd Castle, Todmorden, Lancashire Wednesday 26th September– Friday 28th September 2018

  2. General Information • 39 pupils from Year 5 and 6 attending • Spilt into 4 groups. • Each group assigned a Robin Wood instructor and supported by a member of staff from school. • Proposed members of staff including - Mrs Aksoy-Smith, Mrs Boast, Mrs Snape and Miss Naylor

  3. Overnight Accommodation • The children sleep in dormitories with room sizes between 2 and 12. • School will only receive information on the dormitories allocated 1 week before attending. • Boys and Girls are on different floors and have access to different washing and toilet facilities. • Showers and toilet facilities are located on each floor and shared between the members of our school.

  4. Medicines • Please ensure a medical form is completed and returned by Monday 17th September. • All medicines to be handed to Mrs Boast on the Wednesday before boarding the coach • Please ensure travel sickness tablets are taken in the morning to ensure they are working before boarding the coach at 9.30am • Children will be responsible for carrying and administering their own inhalers during the activities.

  5. Daily Plan • 7am Wake Up Call • 8am - Breakfast • 9am – 5pm Activities • 5-6pm – Tea • 6 – 9pm Evening Activities • 9-10 pm - Debrief and chat - BED

  6. Food! • Breakfast – full cooked breakfast as well as toast and cereals • Lunch – wrap or jacket potatoes with fillings, sandwiches, soup, fruit, yoghurts. • Evening meal – cooked food – pizza, spaghetti bolognese and a dessert! • Snacks available at break times • There is always a vegetarian meal available. • All nut free activity centres.

  7. Other details • Leave Wednesday 26th September at 9.30am – children arrive at 8.55am and meet in the hall with bags • Bags should be named and children aware of clothes packed within them clothes in bags for each day– pack • Children will need to be able to carry/move their own bags from the coach to the accommodation. • Children may bring a DS etc for the journey, but it will be their responsibility – these must be named and will be collected on arrival at Robin Wood • A packed lunch will be PROVIDED at Robin Wood

  8. Returning • Returning on Friday 28th September– expected to be back for 3.30pm • Mrs Parkinson will be kept informed of any delays to the arrival time • Children can be collected from the hall – once all luggage has been unloaded and they have told a teacher • Help unloading the luggage would be appreciated!

  9. Expectations • The usual high standards of behaviour and manners are expected throughout the stay. • No mobile phones • Cameras are not required –staff will take plenty of photographs. • Poor listening or behaviour delays the start of activities and could result in children being excluded from activities on health and safety grounds. • No jewellery/ watches/money/sweets/ chocolate or additional food required

  10. Kit List Please NAME all clothing • Several T-shirts or tops • Old thick jumpers. Fleeces are particularly good • Several pairs of old tracksuit bottoms or similar, but not jeans for comfort and safety reasons • 3 complete changes of clothes are recommended

KIT LIST continued • 3 pairs of shoes; 1 pair for indoors, e.g. slippers, 1 pair for outdoors, 1 old pair of trainers for water activities which will get wet and muddy • Night clothes • Underwear • Toiletries; soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo etc • 2 towels • Plastic bags for wet clothing • Lunch box, plastic drinks bottle (and a stainless steel flask) • Robin Wood offer a drying room and a laundry service for wet and muddy clothes!

  12. Woolly hat, scarf and gloves. • Socks, at least several pairs of thick socks and several pairs of normal ones • Swimwear and shorts • Suncream and sun hat !!! • Torch and batteries • If you have the following bring them with you, otherwise they will be provided: • Walking boots • Wellingtons • Waterproof trousers and jacket • Small rucksack

  13. Keeping parents informed • School will be updated on progress and a summary of each day will be provided by Mrs Parkinson. • If any parent needs to contact us in an emergency – talk to Mrs Parkinson

  14. Payment Dates • 12th April 2018 - £30 • 10th May 2018 - £60 • 14th June 2018 - £60 • 12th July 2018 - £60 • 13th September - £60 • Total cost - £270

  15. Robin Wood…. • Is an amazing opportunity for children to: • experience new activities, • develop friendships further and make new friends, • enhance leadership skills • and have FUN!
