ITU Workshop on “Standardization on IMT, M2M, IoT, Cloud Computing and SDN” (Algiers, Algeria, 8 September 2013) Workshop’s wrap up and recommendation
Session 1 : NGN Evolutions, IMT and IoT
Session 1 For the migration from legacy networks to next-generation networks for developing countries, a handbook has been approved at the February 2013 SG13 meeting; Plan a legislative and regulatory framework that supports the next generation network in the technical aspects as well as in regulation; Reduce the cost per bit through future networks
Session 1 (2) Implement mechanisms to cover remote and underserved areas; Pay more attention to the health problems that can occur due to network densification; Work on tools and mechanisms that enable effective control of QoS;
Session 1 (3) Develop new technologies using less energy; Focus on the development of M2M and IoT services; Raise awareness of Member States to deploy IP infrastructure advantage (TCP / IP) to facilitate the transition to NGN
Session 2 : Cloud Computing & M2M
Session 2 Strengthen the public & private regional presence Ensure regulatory harmonization between developed and developing regions/members. Include the lessons learned within the ongoing work on Cloud Guidelines/Regulations.
Session 2 (2) Encourage AREGNET’s members states to join the Arab Cloud Computing project; Maintain a high level of security to ensure the confidentiality and the integrity of data flowing in different cloud services; Keep coordinating with international organizations on regulatory topics such as security and privacy e.g. ITU.
Session 3: SDN and Networks of Future
Session 3 Key objectives of SUN are to bring smart capabilities into the telecommunication networks. Thus, SUN is seen as an early realization of future networks
